Virginia Baker
After majoring in painting at Mills College and The San Francisco Art Institute, establishing an extensive art program at University of California Extension, marrying and raising two daughters, living in Kyoto for five years, and studying plants and bio-dynamic horticulture with Alan Chadwick, Virginia began designing gardens professionally in 1985.
Six years ago it all came together when she and Gayle discovered the art of staging.

Beginning when she was six, rearranging furniture in her mother’s apartment, and continuing through years of studying history, art and architecture while living in Europe, Gayle’s aesthetic appreciation and design skills were molded and refined.
Now she loves the challenges of creating beautiful spaces when there’s no time for elaborate planning and lengthy scheduling, working with her dear friend, and managing a zany team that brings a large measure of laughter and fun to the hundreds of staging projects they’ve done.
