Who are Danielle Chavanon and “Live Modern Team”?

Some homes have all the criteria I have always admired in modern architecture: a sense of mystery, simplicity, light, understanding of the environment and above all beautiful lines. These homes make me understand why I enjoy real estate. Selling residences designed by renowned architects like Charles Gwathmey, Jim Jennings, Robert Swatt or Andrew Skurman is exciting as I can witness how they are able to create timeless sculptures dictated by difficult sites or turned towards important landmarks. These residences are built by contractors who worked with precision and care like talented sculptors. It is important to me, as a realtor to closely work with and represent the talent of the architects and builders, as I think of them as artists whose masterpieces I am selling; It is more than marketing a house, for me it is showcasing a lifestyle: “modern Marin” for people in tune with their environment and taking advantage of the outdoors. Representing buyers looking for eco friendly properties with integrity in design is a challenge I seek as the result is always rewarding, it substantiates my idea of living modern in Marin. As all the “components” are not always in place, the Live Modern Team can assist in achieving buyers or sellers objectives.

To that end, my website was redesigned showcasing a modern lifestyle. I am very excited about this approach, the talented team members who joined me, the blogs we will share and the different events we will put together, especially the modern homes tour. If you send us your email address we will notify you of new blogs and events.

Why Modern in Marin?

What other county in the San Francisco Bay Area has a seat designed by one of the greatest modern architects? None but Marin County, where Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Marin County Civic Center in the mid 50s. When he accepted the commission Frank Lloyd Wright said: "The beauty of Marin County should be expressed in our architecture. The buildings must not hurt the land. . .” At the same time Joseph Eichler was building modernist style homes in Terra Linda, setting the trend towards modern architecture and a modern lifestyle. The natural beauty of the county, moderate weather, the stunning views and the quality of light are conducive to modern architecture, in tune with the environment and the indoor/outdoor modern lifestyle. Every day in summer when I cross the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco I always have the same thought: I am leaving the fog behind and entering the California lifestyle people dream about abroad. After passing the Waldo Tunnel with its rainbow I always feel like I am driving into a national park.

Timeless structures with clean lines respect this beautiful landscape. Marin County is a magical location filled with majestic natural treasures and stunning modern architecture.
